Welcome to NYCAP Music, an on-line resource for information about the live music scene in New York's Capital Region. It's hard to believe, but we celebrated our third anniversary recently. And what an exciting run this has been for us!
NYCAP Music currently has over one hundred local bands and musicians on board. We'd like to thank the music community for the warm reception and encouragement. Working on the website has given us the opportunity to meet so many wonderful and talented people and we look forward to meeting many more in the coming years. We appreciate how hard everyone works, and the long hours that you all put in to doing what you love.
The Capital Region has so much to offer music lovers - a vibrant local music scene with something for everyone, some great clubs and venues, wonderful festivals, and so many talented artists right here at home. And that's the reason for NYCAP Music, to recognize and support all the great people who are local music. In order for this website to continue to be a success we need your help. Be sure to mention NYCAP Music to others and consider adding a link to us on your own website. The only way we can keep the website alive and useful is with input from all of you, so please spread the word. If you are an artist who would like to be included in our local music directory or a club interested in being listed on the venue page please contact us.

A place for upstate NY's music community to reach out and connect
In response to your suggestions, we've decided to try a new feature - NYCAP Music's Local Connection, an area for upstate NY musicians and music lovers to network and connect with one another. Features include: For Sale - Musical Equipment and More - Sell instruments, gear, studio equipment, and anything else that pertains to music; Music Community and Collaboration - Network with other local bands, musicians, songwriters, etc; Musicians and Bands Available - Promote and search for talented local artists and musicians and Events and Opportunities - Posts for help wanted for a music event, fundraiser, etc Since this is something new for us we welcome your comments and suggestions.
